On Thursday, September 15, the World Affairs Council of Kentucky & Southern Indiana (WAC) is taking part in our community’s biggest day of local giving: Give Local Louisville! Organized by the Community Foundation of Louisville, Give Local Louisville is a 24-hour online giving day created to inspire people to give generously to the nonprofits that make our community a better, more vital place to live. In 2015, our community made history: we raised $3 million through 8,785 gifts for the 362 participating nonprofits — more than a $1 million increase over the previous year! This year, over 600 nonprofits are taking part in this city-wide movement to advance Louisville, and the need for community support couldn’t be greater.
WAC would like to thank you, our community, for your generous support for our work to foster the global exchange of people and ideas through our monthly speaker, international visitor, and education programs. Your past support for our organization is the reason why are reaching out to you now. Give Local Louisville provides us the chance to strengthen our community impact by increasing the global competency of students, educators and professionals to build a more informed citizenry.
We’re writing to you today because we need your help to make September 15th the biggest day of local giving for our community. Give Local Louisville provides WAC the opportunity to raise funds necessary to bolster our organizational reach, enhance the quality of our programming, and, most importantly, to spread awareness about our work throughout Kentucky and Southern Indiana — all in single day. So please mark your calendar, spread the word, and donate online to the World Affairs Council of Kentucky and Southern Indiana on September 15th!
