World Affairs Council has many volunteer opportunities! Our most regularly needed activities are listed below, along with upcoming opportunities associated with them! Dinner Hosts and Host Families are regularly needed for our exchange programs to be successful! Open your home to the world!
Host a Dinner
Open your home, backyard, or get some friends together and make a block-party to welcome international exchange participants through food!
Dinners are often the most memorable experience for exchange participants and create an unforgettable experience to engage with people from around all corners of the globe!

UPCOMING DINNER HOST OPPORTUNITIES:
Youth exchanges bring the “fun” in cultural exchange! Youth participants are typically between 15-17 years and enrolled in high school in their home countries. While in the U.S., students typically stay with host families for two (2) weeks.
Our youth programs are unique! They do not stay with a local school – instead, students spend their Monday-Fridays exploring their theme of learning, volunteering, meeting with their peers, and more!

Host a Professional
Some professional exchange programs, such as Open World, place professionals in local homes! Typically, professional exchange programs are in host families for one (1) week.
While with their host families, exchange participants are able to deeply explore American culture, life, and more! The exchange participants take part in their professional programming from 9am-5pm Monday-Friday and spend evenings and weekend days with their host families.
