About this Event:

How do you provide adequate healthcare in a country plagued by poverty, failing infrastructure, and political corruption? This was the question Dr. Jean Cornely posed to himself when he returned to Haiti after completing advanced medical training in Paris. Working through death threats, embezzled funds, disinterested leadership, political machinations, and a lack of resources, Dr. Cornely has spent years developing effective public health programs in one of the world’s poorest countries. Join us as he tells his story, from his training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Haiti University School of Medicine to his recent bid for President of Haiti and creation of a national cervical cancer screening program.

The event is produced in partnership with the Women’s Global Cancer Alliance.
