18 Spanish-speaking journalists from the Caribbean and Central & South America will be in Kentucky to make professional connections while exploring the following project objectives as outlined by the U.S. Department of State:
- Examine the rights and responsibilities of a free press in a democracy;
- Observe operational practices, standards, and institutions of the media in the U.S.;
- Gain insights into the social, economic, and political structures of the U.S.; and
- Explore the impact of digital and social media on the availability and veracity of news.
