Cuba’s Uncertain Future: Crisis, Change, and the Future of the Island

Cuba is facing one of the most severe economic and political crises in its modern history. Widespread power outages, fuel shortages, food insecurity, inflation, and continued corruption have placed enormous pressure on Cuban society. At the same time, the United States has significantly intensified sanctions and economic pressure on the Cuban government, while debate continues over whether these policies will encourage reform, deepen hardship, or accelerate political change.

Join us for a timely and candid conversation examining Cuba's future from multiple perspectives. Featuring voices representing differing views on the Cuban government, alongside academic analysis and moderated discussion, this program will explore the island's economic challenges, political realities, U.S.-Cuba relations, and the implications for Cubans on the island and throughout the diaspora.

As home to one of the largest Cuban-American communities in the United States, Louisville offers a unique setting for a thoughtful and respectful dialogue on an issue that resonates both globally and locally.
